It’s going to hurt right?!

I am bricking it. It’s not for 10 days (Consultant that does it is on annual leave).

I’ve been given no information just that I’ll be awake and can go home an hour after and a confirmation letter.

You’ll see on my PP I’m a HCP but in emergency medicine.
I am the Worst patient ever I know 🤣

I’m overweight too so in my head it’s more layers of fat for the needle to go through 🙈
What has anyone’s experience personally of having one?
How long were your results?

You’ll be OK Flowers

My daughter had one aged 6 and afterwards she just had a teeny weeny circular sticking plaster. It was much easier than the lumbar puncture she had a couple of days earlier. I think Doctor skill may be part of what made it bearable but that’s probably why you are waiting for someone to come back from
annual leave.

Results were very fast but she was an in patient at the time.

Best wishes!

Ah your poor daughter having one so young!

I’ve had a LP but because of my weight it took several attempts, that was painful, and a liver biopsy - that I classed worse than labour genuinely. So bone marrow makes me feel sick 🤢

I hope your daughter is okay 💜
