Sunday night rituals

Tonight I am feeling oddly calm for a Sunday night and put this down to just having a really lovely day. Clothes and lunch are ready for tomorrow and I'm settled in with a nice face mask, cuppa and toast.

Is there anything you do to mentally prepare you for the week ahead?

Make sure the food shop, bed sheets and hoovering is done Sunday morning and packed lunches done before settling in for the evening. I usually wash my hair on a Sunday evening too. Those things always make me feel ready for the week ahead.

I wash and blowdry my hair on a Sunday.

I also set up outfits for work and make sure I have pj’s, socks, underwear etc for the week. I’m not into meal prepping but I like to have the clothes prepped.

I change my sheets on a Sunday and we try and go for a family walk, be it just us (household members) or wider family members too.
Usually a roast in the evening.
I wfh so no real planning needed for me. Ds usually has to get his uniform together to make sure it’s all washed! And pack his bag etc but he’s off still for another week so none of that this week.
I paint my nails on a Sunday night too.
i love Sundays.

Sounds good! I'm not very good at routines. I often think I would feel much calmer, more organised and in control if I were, but some inner part of me rebels at the idea! Following for inspiration...

We always try to go for a drive every Sunday .. once a month will visit sister who lives 2 hours away.
Just got back from the coast.
Not done anything different really.. taken some beef out of freezer to make a casserole in slow cooker tomorrow. I will decide in morning what my plans are. Will be seeing my daughters and Grandsons in the week.
Will fit a swim in.
I'm retired .. just laid in bed now .. cat laid at side of me.
Got a chocolate ripple and will be watching some telly.

Also following for inspiration!

About to sit down for a family meal which we try to do on a Sunday evening. One son going back to uni tomorrow so it’s bitter sweet.

We do a Sunday reset...

So housework, food shop delivered any admin type stuff

We also get out for fresh air either in the countryside, beach or moors ... Although today we've been in the garden 😁

Everyone has baths/showers and early nights

I'll paint my nails, shave legs and do face/hair masks etc

Good film/ book with herbal tea and bed.
Very relaxing 😌

I don't do the clothes the night before as I like to dress to my mood that day 😅

I've been working today, so other than essentials, I'm crashing out this evening. I'm in work again tomorrow lunchtime so will catch up on washing clothes at least.

Say I’m going to have no wine and crisps and inevitably have wine and crisps.

Poirot and ironing every Sunday evening.
Afternoon spent with favourite radio program faffing in the kitchen and checking works ready for the next day.

WithIcePlease · 07/04/2024 21:18

I've got 11 working Mondays before I retire. Not that I'm counting!

Computer charging, phone charging, clothes laid out, tomorrow's dinner planned. Gym kit by the door, travel mug by the kettle.

Hair washed and about to blow dry.

It's my earliest start of the week unfortunately due to location.

BIWI · 07/04/2024 21:20

Congratulations on your forthcoming retirement @WithIcePlease! Best thing I ever did. No worries at all about Monday, and no special rituals.
