Just that really. How many do you have? Are you done having them?
I have 3. Would like more but lacking space!

3

KeepingItUnderTheRadar · 07/04/2024 09:25

3 dc. Two teenagers (16 and 14) and a 6 year old.

We're definitely done now. Had time/money/space been unlimited we'd have aimed for a fourth with another 2 year ish gap after dc3, but we used our heads and quit whilst we were ahead!

fieldsofbutterflies · 07/04/2024 09:30

None and done Grin

Borracha · 07/04/2024 09:36

Three. The third was very much unplanned and whilst they bring our family so much happiness, I often think about how much easier life would have been with just two.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/04/2024 09:42

Two, at least partly for financial reasons - dh and I were both from families with 4 children - good parents,,but permanently skint, there was never much spare cash for anything. We didn’t want ours to be like us.

I did get very broody for a while after dd2 - not for a boy, just for another baby! - but it did pass.

mycatsanutter · 07/04/2024 09:46

4 , but 3 are adults and have left home so just ds10 at home.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 07/04/2024 09:49

2 and done- I really don’t get why people want more, parenting is such hard work

FairGossamerLady · 07/04/2024 09:50

DH and I come from unusually large families by todays standards.

We got married in our early twenties with the plan to have at least 4 but no more than 6. We stopped at 2 because both have autism!

I am desperate to have more but it just wouldn't be fair to play lottery with their lives. I'm depressed about it and obsess over baby names and have secretly hoarded a collection of neutral baby clothes that I bought on impulse but will never have the chance to use.

It has also had this rather tragic ripple effect where my younger sisters, who were previously very gung-ho about becoming mums are now very hesitant about it.

We make plans , God laughs!

SanskritPixie · 07/04/2024 09:53

Four. We knew we didn’t want more than that.

Ankylo · 07/04/2024 09:56

1, planning 1 more. I'm one of 3 and love that i have 2 siblings but we wouldn't have the finances or space for another.

Six. Two who's mum died when they were young so became part of our family.

RomeoRivers · 07/04/2024 10:34

Pregnant with no. 3, planning for 4, but haven’t totally ruled out 5! 😂 It will probably depend on what gender mix we get with the others. Currently have 1 of each.

I’m the eldest of 5, so always wanted a big family.

TheChosenTwo · 07/04/2024 10:38

Three and that’s enough for us. First 2 close together and now 18 and 19. Very relieved we saved for their futures when they were small as putting them through uni, driving lessons and cars etc has cost a small fortune but worth it for them. Younger one is 12 and will do the same when their time comes.
We didn’t want anymore as it would have compromised what we planned for, to have the kids when we did so when they were older we would have the freedom to do as we pleased while we were young enough to do so.

Berlinlover · 07/04/2024 10:39

None.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 07/04/2024 10:40

None living (yet), a few that never made it and 6 potentials in the freezer waiting. One would be a miracle. I’d have loved 2-3 but that is unlikely now.

Gowlett · 07/04/2024 10:41

One boy. Haven’t considered another child.

IntermittentFarting · 07/04/2024 10:42

Think I'm the first to say...5!

Had 3, bit of a gap, then two more. It's been great.
I'm 55 now so obviously not having any more!

DrJoanAllenby · 07/04/2024 10:42

Two and four step children. All adults and all lovely.

YouwouldthinkIhavemoresense · 07/04/2024 10:43

Two. Perfect amount for us.

I can’t physically have anymore anyway.

PrudeyTwoShoes · 07/04/2024 10:43

2 and done for us too. I might have considered a third in the future if our circumstances were very different but happy with our two DC so equally don't feel like I'm missing out either.

fourelementary · 07/04/2024 10:44

determinedtomakethiswork · 07/04/2024 08:57

Bit outing but never mind I will name change.

Two.

🤣 is this a joke?

BingoMarieHeeler · 07/04/2024 10:44

3, desired the third for years and now absolutely no desire for any more. Everyone is here now! 😍

(although if we had a miracle vasectomy baby I would be equally delighted and fraught 😄 I had a dream we had 4th the other day and omg the newborn days are just sooooo perfect and un-replicable)

Boutonnière · 07/04/2024 10:46

Two. Would quite have liked another but started fairly late and two were financially viable but three more tricky ( housing, car etc) Didn’t feel strongly about it at the time though getting rid of baby stuff was a bit poignant.

In retrospect, we could have managed a third and I have some regrets.

Teacakesontheside · 07/04/2024 10:46

3 and done. Decision was taken out of my hands as needed a hysterectomy. As it happens I became disabled and a single parent so having more would have made things even harder than they already are.
