Help I think I've broken my daughters bike!

Any cycling experts around ? Just bought DD a new bike and literally as we went out on our first trip she changed gear and it's chain is now only running backwards not forwards - if we pedal backwards it's fine but stuck/jammed if going forwards. Any idea how to fix ? Thank you in advance

can you post a picture? is the chain jammed between the frame and the cogs, and do you think the problem is the cogs at the front or the cogs at the back?
