For me it's the kettle chips but the co-op posh ones come a close second

Tesco Finest.

If you can find these the salt and vinegar are epic - proper hurt your tongue territory

I was going to say the Co-op ones as soon as I saw the title but I see you're onto those already. Several times have I ended up eating an entire big packet and feeling like I've stripped a layer from my tongue. And I'll do it again!

They are sooo good - they are almost painful

Edited

I am a Coop s and v fan myself but have to admit I haven't tried first place

Another one who came here to say Co-op's posh ones are eye-wateringly good.

But I'm not sure Martin Lewis's list is entirely accurate. Bit harsh of Seabrook's being in OK tier.

The humble Pringle should also get a mention. Very lickable.

JockTamsonsBairns · 06/04/2024 23:34

I'm such a crisp pleb. Can't be doing with the posh hand-cooked type crisps - they have a bit of a stale texture to me.

Occasionally, Aldi stock Golden Wonder crisps in their middle aisle of wonderment.

Now that's a decent crisp.

Thunderpunt · 06/04/2024 23:38

Pringles salt and vinegar all day long...

And then the inside of the corners of your mouth peel off in great white disgusting clumps Envy (not envy)

But I will still eat a whole tube in one sitting

Yorkshire Crisps - Chardonnay Wine Vinegar

DH and I had two packets at the pub this afternoon. Fab.

Sandalwoodrose · 07/04/2024 00:09

Disco Salt & Vinegar are probably the best, to me.

Followed by Golden Wonder.

These are not crisps.

The correct answer is "Golden Wonder", as it is with every other crisp-related question. Walkers need banned.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 07/04/2024 01:09

Can the people nominating Pringles, Chipsticks, Discos, Fish&Chips and so on, please use the "Which are the best Salt & Vinegar potato/maize snacks?" thread?

Thank you.

theduchessofspork · 07/04/2024 01:10

Tayto

tongue stripper

(in a good way)

Occitane · 07/04/2024 01:24

My favourites are the posh co-op ones too, but I also love discos and square crisps.

goingdownfighting · 07/04/2024 01:32

Definitely the co op ones. They've ruined many a diet.

Use them to scoop hoummous. Divine.

PiggieWig · 07/04/2024 01:41

Lancashire Crisps. I don’t know if you can get them outside the red rose county but they have the perfect crunch and flavour distribution. If you find yourself near a Booths at any time, check them out.

123dogdog · 07/04/2024 02:07

Taylor’s (the non crinkled), they are amazing. And a special mention to McCoys (my favourite ever crisps)

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 07/04/2024 02:57

Kettle chips.

Or McCain crinkle cut.

Yep, my favourite. May eat a bag now!

BrandNewBicep · 07/04/2024 03:02

PiggieWig is correct - Lancashire crisps are the best.

Sladuf · 07/04/2024 03:04

I would have nominated Discos because the vinegar kick is superb BUT as the presumably Father Ted fan - downwiththissortofthing - above correctly noted Discos are a potato/maize snack.

The posh Co-Op salt and vinegar crisps aren’t too bad. I don’t mind Tyrrell's either but to be fair Real McCoy are probably my favourite salt and vinegar crisps after good old Walkers actually.

HappyHolidai · 07/04/2024 03:10

Waitrose own salt & malt vinegar: so addictive!
