Have you asked for a trial of a steroid inhaler, to try and prevent them?

No having pneumonia once doesn’t mean you’ll get it again. Although if you have an existing lung problem it’ll make you more prone to infections.
Pneumonia is Inflammation/ infection in the lung that can be seen on a chest xray. It can be mild needing oral antibiotics or more severe usually requiring IV antibiotics. I think people worry when they hear the word pneumonia. It’s good they know what’s wrong and can give you the right antibiotics/ treatment. Hope it goes quick OP

I had it mildly twice, then I got an immunisation from Boots for £70 and didn't get it again for 15 years, until I had chemo.

When it was mild it was like flu, a week or two in bed, a week or two recovery.

When I had it last, it was nearly a month in hospital and 3 months off work, and 6 months later, still not right.

There is a big range in how serious it is. You can have "walking" pneumonia and not even know. Or you can die

I had pneumonia at the start of the year, the pain was horrific and it came on really quite suddenly! I was hospitalised on iv antibiotics and then had another week at home where I just slept for the week I was so ill. Horrible!
