Starting a job when pregnant

Name changed for this one.

So I’ve been offered a job. Pretty much the job I need to crack into this new area I’ve changed career into. I've really wanted this for a couple of years now.

I applied for the role back in December and found out I was pregnant in January. I’m due in September.

I know legally we don’t have to say anything, but by early summer (May) I’ll be showing.

I just want to know what people’s thoughts are.

If I knew I was pregnant I wouldn’t have applied to any jobs, but this is basically ‘dream job.’

Fine to take it, but I think it's very wrong to not tell them you are pregnant.

You will get loads of people telling you to GO FOR IT on here though, and you don't need to tell them etc. And whilst you don't officially need to tell them you're pregnant, I think it's very poor form not to. Can you not just stay in your current job til after the baby is born? Makes far more sense.

I'm not sure they are allowed to withdraw a job offer if you tell them you are pregnant anyway. How will it impact your maternity pay?

They absolutely can withdraw a job offer despite her being pregnant, they just can’t withdraw it BECAUSE she’s pregnant, and it’s incredibly easy for employers to find any other reason to explain withdrawing an offer.
