Have you ever cringed so hard you could shove a straw up your bum and give yourself a McDonald's milkshake enema?

Boiler sprung a leak and the plumber came out.

Just me and my younger son in the house and he was in his room. The chap fixed the leak and called out to me " I'm finished, I'm off now ".

I didn't get up to see him out because I'm comfy under my blanket and couldn't be arsed. (I know him, he's been several times before, it's all very relaxed)

I thought I heard my son grunt and mumble something so thought he was coming downstairs and I didn't want him to push past the plumber or say something rude (my son is 23 and autistic) so I called out "hey, be polite!" as I rushed to intercept.

Plumber said "pardon?"

My
Son
Wasn't
There

So I'm left stammering oh I thought I heard X grunt at you...

I'm replaying it endlessly in my head and every loop my voice gets louder and my tone sharper. 🤦
