Does this look like it needs a GP appointment?

My child has a scratch on her leg (she can’t remember how she got it), has picked it a couple of times and it has a red mark under it now that is numb. Is this an infection possibly? It doesn’t feel hot and she feels fine. The scratch has been there about a week, the redness and numbness since yesterday.
It’s mission impossible to get a GP appointment so wanted to be sure before trying!!

When you say numb, what do you mean? If she looks elsewhere can she tell if you're tapping it?

I'm not a medic so not qualified to advise but that's the question that comes to mind.

I'd also biro round the red this evening and see if it's spreading by the morning.

@Hermanfromguesswho , have you shown this to a pharmacist? You could go to a drop in centre too. I’m not medically qualified so I can’t give you an helpful input but for what it’s worth it doesn’t look awful to me.

Biro around it so you can tell if its spreading

Is the skin warmer around it than skin in the same place on the other leg

Does she feel well in herself? Is she feverish, not eating or drinking as normal, focussed and playing?

Looks like it could be puncture wounds/bite maybe? I would do as others said, draw round edge of the redness and see if it has spread in the morning.

Possibly cat bite! I’ve drawn around it, thank you all. Will reassess in the morning!
