I'll start this by saying I had a Simba before and hated it!

Looking for something similar to sleeping on a cloud or in a giant marshmallow. I love being comfy and cosy and now I have nobody else to consider in my mattress purchases I want to get something that suits me and me alone!

Emma - it's wonderful. I love ours. Not the cheapest but it's worth buying for the comfort and refreshing feeling you get each morning :-)

We have an Emma and love it. Can't remember exactly what 'model' but it wasn't the cheapest or most expensive. Think about £750

Spottyhousecoat · 02/04/2024 12:47

Remfit we've had ours 6 years and it's still as comfy as the first night. I've bought the kids them too.
Look out for offers we got 40% off ours and similar for the kids. If you don't like it they take them back and donate to the bhf.

I have a Zinus mattress, would recommend. It's mid range price wise, supportive yet is really comfortable.

I have a Nectar. Can't remember how much it was. Had it 5 years and it's still like new! Love it!

AnOpinionInTheHand · 02/04/2024 13:40

I had an Emma and it was awful, it killed my back. We sent it back and got a decent Relyon one - although that didn’t come in a box

Heaet1135 · 02/04/2024 13:50

I love my Otty. 3 years old and like new

App13 · 02/04/2024 13:55

Warren Evans, I have 2 of them in the other bedrooms and guests fight to stay there . Thr bog standard luxury one is divine and currently has a 40% sale as well as 10 week guarantee

Go to your local Jysk and try them all.. they deliver in a box.. l wouldn't buy a mattress without trying it
Mine is memory foam with cooling gel.
Was £400 in sale usually £800.
They often have sales.. I've had Emma( sent it back.. it soon sagged in the middle) Dormeo was the same.

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 02/04/2024 14:04

It's in the sale.

Those people who love their Emma mattresses - how long have you had them? Ours was rubbish after a year or so. Terrible quality.

I would never buy one in a box again. We went to a bed shop and bought a proper mattress and it's amazing.

If you think about it anything that can be squeezed into a box will eventually compress and wear out with use. A decent mattress is full of proper filling.

coxesorangepippin · 02/04/2024 14:07

Not sure if it's exactly what you mean but we got one from IKEA that's rolled up. You then unroll it and it becomes like a normal mattress

Chewbecca · 02/04/2024 14:07

Why do you want one in a box?

I went to John Lewis and spent a good hour or more laying on all the mattresses there, ordered my favourite (which is probably different to yours) and it was delivered a few weeks later.

TheBeeb · 02/04/2024 14:10

We've had an Emma one for about 4 years and it's still as good as when it was new

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 02/04/2024 14:13

Really hated our Emma - memory foam doesn’t suit me - find it roasting. Barely slept while we had it but sent back

Will never buy one again unless I can lie on it and try it!

PatFussy · 02/04/2024 14:24

I have an Emma and I really like it. Had it 4 years now

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2024 14:31

I bought one. It was an expensive waste of money. Never again!

NoisySnail · 02/04/2024 14:34

I am looking for a good foam mattress as well.

Because it needs to be stored for a while. Long and complicated story.

Thanks all, I'll do some research!

Beware of zones in the mattress, I had to send one back as gave me back ache. Would never buy a mattress with zones which seems to be a trend nowadays 👿

SanskritPixie · 02/04/2024 17:32

We had an Emma for a few years; it was fabulous at first, then sagged and gave us backache. After a lot of correspondence and argument, they have now given us a replacement. It is fine at the moment, but I'm not expecting it to last any longer than the previous one.

When this wears out, I'll be going back to a proper mattress again.
