DP’s family have introduced me to various dishes over the years and I’m constantly asking for recipes (it’s actually just embarrassing to keep asking!!). I’ve become a little obsessed with middle eastern food and i’ve decided to try and cook more of it myself.

In particular, i’d highly appreciate the following recipes!

  • Baghali Polo
  • Lamb/Chicken Shawarma
  • Ghormeh Sabzi
  • Shorba (soup - I know the ingredients but get the quantities wrong each time……….)

TIA!

Those are more specifically Iranian than Middle Eastern.

I did have an Iranian cookery book in the past, the food was fantastic.

Have you googled these recipes?

ViolinSpin · 01/04/2024 21:48

Apart from Shwarma those are Iranian dishes.
Google will help.
All delicious too! Lucky you to get them home cooked!
If you are making them yourself try to buy ingredients from an ethnic food shop. Again google for Iranian shops near you. Extra long grain basmati rice is the nearest you'll get to the rice you want.

If you are in the market for a Middle Eastern cookbook, check out Falastin as well as Sabrina's books.
