Help me find this book please

I saw it in a market today for £2 and for some stupid reason, I didn't buy it.
Think it's a massive hit, might have been shortlisted for the Costa. I think it was about two Irish brothers, one of whom needed the care of the other. I think it's called something beginning with S, or The S_.

Thank you, but none of these. Definitely about brothers! I think it starts off with the brothers together and then it jumps into the future when they aren't together anymore, and a body is found.

Strangely, I looked at the blurb of The Shock of The Fall and that’s what it says on there! (I know you said it definitely wasn’t that).

Just read the blurb - surely that MUST be it! (Apart from the Irish bit - Lancashire rather than Irish!)
