Where would you go on honeymoon in October?

DP wants somewhere warm, but we only have one week off work. I know with climate change these things are unpredictable.

Not a massive budget but a nice 4 star resort package would be great.

We went to Kenya/Zanzibar for our October honeymoon but a bit far for a week

that said it was several months after the actual wedding. We had a mini moon straight after the wedding. You could have a nice city break and a proper holiday when you have a more AL?
or a week in the Canaries or North Africa should still be warm.

We won't have significantly more time off until the next summer (DP is a teacher) and we're going to TTC pretty quickly.

Bermuda? Same flight time as New York.

We often go to the Med in late October (for half term holidays), it's still warm (mid 20s) and a lot less crowded than in the summer. The Costa del Sol, Greece or Turkey would all be nice or North Africa.

We got married in late October and had the half term holiday. We chose a city break with a very nice hotel as we prefer that to a beach holiday. Unlike you we were able to have a lovely long haul holiday the next summer.
I wouldn't go to Crete in late October, we did that a few years ago. Everything was shutting up for the winter, weather was mid teens and windy and a walk on the beach turned into being scoured by sand. When the DC wanted an ice-cream in a café we were literally hacking the last couple of stale ones out of the ice at the bottom of the freezer. The villa was set up for sun not warmth and I was cold all week. Never again!

Cape Verde.
I know people have mixed experiences but we stayed at the Melia Tortuga and it was lovely. We did a couple of trips out but theres not a lot to do, but for a week and as a chill out place its great and only a 5ish hour flight and quick transfer when you get there

A month later but our honeymoon to Lanzarote was in November and we had glorious weather, mid 20’s every day.

I think I would go to Southern Spain, Málaga, Cadiz, Seville, somewhere like that. Stay somewhere gorgeous and eat like kings.

Smartiepants79 · 01/04/2024 10:30

We did, went to the Maldives.
lots of places would work in the autumn.

Seville, absolutely beautiful, will still be warm and an hour on the train will get you to Cadiz or Cordoba.

Tapas there is the best I’ve ever eaten and dirt cheap. You might be able to stretch to a few nights at the famous Alfonso hotel, which would be incredibly special:

Cyprus will be nice. Or Oman would be lovely if you want something different?

Crete
Seville

We went to Mauritius just for a week and it was fine as the flights were overnight both ways, the time difference isn't huge and with flight timings we ended up having almost 8 full days there (arrived at our hotel in time for lunch on day one, didn't leave until about 5pm for the airport on day 8). Hours

The Caribbean. October/November is the cheapest time and the sea will be really warm.
It does happen to be hurricane season but you may well be lucky and they usually miss Barbados!
