BST Hyde Park, Crowds and Pregnant, help?

Hi folks

I have tickets to Morgan Wallen at Hyde Park on July 4th and I found out I was pregnant a day after DH got the tickets. I'll be 20 weeks if all goes well with my pregnancy. I'm really worried about the crowds and the pushing and shoving going in and out of gates/entrances.

Has anyone been before? It'll be my first time at a concert at Hyde Park.

I plan to stand at the back to hopefully avoid the worst of it. Any other advice? Will it be shoulder to shoulder? I seen it holds 65k.

I've been to the Hyde Park concerts loads over the years (worked there for many of them). The crowds at the back will be absolutely fine, room to sit down and walk around as you need to. The toilet provisions are actually really not too bad for this sort of event.
The crowds at exit can be very dense and a little intimidating if you are not used to it expecting it. To avoid the crowds either leave a little early or hang right back and leave after the majority of the crowds

I went at 32 weeks. Stood towards the back and gave drunk dancers plenty of space. People were amazing, insisting I jump the queue for loo and drunkenly telling me how great it was that I was there preggo.

As others have said it can get very busy at the end. We had a plan for which gate and tube to head for and left as soon as the music stopped. Night falls while the band is playing and it can get a bit confusing as there are several exits and it all looks different in the dark.

Enjoy!

Hey @ChocHotolate thanks for your reply. That's comforting to know there'll be plenty of space. I'll leave a bit early to avoid the dense crowds leaving. I emailed the BST Hyde Park email to tell them I'm pregnant and going to the event (which seems a bit silly, but my friend said sometimes you get access to private spaces and toilets and queue skipping 👀)

There are loads of toilets but nowhere to sit other than on the grass. You can’t take any food or drink in with you but you can take an empty bottle to fill at a water fountain.I have considered hiring a wheel chair and going in that in the past. It gets very uncomfortable on the grass

I went to a park gig at around the same gestation. Crowds were fine, I was surprised at the number of people smoking actual cigarettes though, so beware of that.

WallenFan1 · 31/03/2024 23:53

@Rocknrollstar oh good point about the grass. Can you bring in a camping chair to sit at the back or is that prohibited? 👀

The queues for the women's toilets were very very long & the exit extremely crowded! It all depends what you're comfortable with, the actual concert will be fine if you're not trying to go up the front

I've been just about every year!

No crowds at the back but screens so you can still see & hear!

I've found the toilet queues move very quickly I've never been stood for ages!

We always have to leave a little bit early to get a train home, no queues exiting the venue!

I don't have tickets for this year as no one (so far) I particularly want to see & I actually feel quite sad, it's become part of my summer & I'll miss it!

This was last summer at the Guns n Roses gig. We were right at the back as DS is in a wheelchair and felt self conscious and was worried about the sound level. As you can see there was loads of space. We had a great time, hope you do too Smile

@TommyandGina that photo has reassured me massively! Looks quite chilled. I'm hoping country fans won't be overly aggressive and it'll be laid back like that 🤞

It's very quiet at the back. You can't take chairs in but there are benches and tables by the food vendors, they were deserted in the evening. You should be able to sit there and still hear / see what's going on. Here's a couple more photos taken even further back.

This is so mad, I booked golden circle tickets for MW and then found out I was expecting. We have been trying for 3 years! I’ll be 19 weeks pregnant, so close to you! I’m also worried about going as I have to travel to London and back to the Midlands on the same day. I have my 20 week scan the day after, so can’t stay over! I’ve been worrying about the crowds etc too but plan to hang at the back!
