This is probably a weird thread but I was walking in the woods today listening to pheasants and other birds and it was so nice.
What are your fave sounds?

Mine are:
Horses hooves clopping
Children proper belly laughing
The sea
Water fountains twinkling
Christmas carols
A fantastic choir
Guinea pigs happy squeezing
My dog padding on a wooden floor (reminds me I'm not alone).
The sizzling from a BBQ or frying
Lawn mowers in the distance (it's a sign of spring/summer which I love).

Bird song (particularly the resident robins and blackbirds)
Water in a stream
Breezes in the trees
Yes to dogs padding on a wooden floor (although I don’t have one but want one!)
And horses hooves
A friendly hello

Hoglet70 · 31/03/2024 18:58

The waves crashing on to the beach.
Trains (weird I know but I was born next to a railway line so I reckon it must be some odd baby thing in my brain).
Rain when I'm indoors and it's coming down hard (even better in a tent or caravan).

UnravellingTheWorld · 31/03/2024 18:58

Birds in the trees
Babies giggling
A really good guitar riff

superplumb · 31/03/2024 18:58

Birds signing
Lawns being mowed
Children during their playtime making noise
Dogs nails on the wooden floor ( strange we like this)
My son humming ( he's asd) and I know it means he's settled ( usually)

cloudjumper · 31/03/2024 19:28

Fire (in a fireplace obvs)
Cat purring

Mollyplop999 · 31/03/2024 19:31

Oh yes. I love the sound of rain on a tent!

A small plane in the distance (reminds me of holidays).
The music used in the Wii lineup.
The short noise used at the start of an announcement in French train stations (can't even describe it).

35andThriving · 17/04/2024 16:19

Heavy rain hitting the window panes when you know you don't have to go outside.

The sound of thunder.

Verv · 17/04/2024 16:36

Heavy rain and storms
My dog eating
The sea
Crackly woodfires
Dehumidifiers
Birdsong

ginasevern · 17/04/2024 17:49

Rain when I'm snuggled in bed or in a tent/caravan.

Birdsong
Crashing waves
The sound of a light aircraft on a hot summer's day
The crackle of a fire in the hearth or a bonfire
My cat purring
A distant train especially at night - like a previous poster, this was a sound from my childhood.

TheDandyLion · 17/04/2024 18:21

The sound of snow. Absolute silence. It's the only time my tinnitus stops.

FoxyLocksie · 17/04/2024 18:27

The sea
The wind in trees
Birdsong
Thunder
Rain
Ocasional cars going by at night (reminds me I'm not the only person awake)

Coastalcreeksider · 17/04/2024 18:54

Late at night the distant sound of a train going slowly over the viaduct, such a soothing sound
The Robin that trills away at the top of my pittisporum tree
The blackbirds when they spot the sultanas I put out for them
The oystercatchers squealing around this time of year, a sign that summer's on the way (well, hopefully ... 🙄)

TheChosenTwo · 17/04/2024 18:56

The sea is my favourite sound ever. I have been known to drive myself the 50 minutes to the beach just to have a lie down for a couple of hours and listen. Then drive home again.

Diplidocus4 · 17/04/2024 19:15

Bird song
Water - sea / waves / Brook etc
My dog - dreaming / snuffling
Planes - military love air shows

seeitthroughmyeyes · 17/04/2024 19:25

Early morning bird song or late evening during the summer with the sun low in the sky. So beautiful

froufroulala · 17/04/2024 21:55

A Chinook helicopter.

Comedycook · 17/04/2024 21:57

The sea

That whooshing sound when there's strong wind

The sound of kids playing in playgrounds

The pop of the foil lid when you have a new jar of coffee or nutella

Mollyplop999 · 18/04/2024 17:58

froufroulala me too!
