We get one of the a3 colouring pads, and a set of colouring pens and pencils. The works are good for these

my DS is about the same age and the parties we’ve been to we did things like:

Play doh tubs
colouring books and pencils
sticker books
kinetic sand
play food
fancy dress outfit
orchard games
life the flap books

A cute notebook and a set of pens or pencils, and maybe some stickers.

Argos do 2 toys for £15 and it’s a pretty good selection

Kinetic sand is great for that age group and playdough.

Water painting books (Usborne), craft stuff, play doh. I liked gifts that could be enjoyed but didn't add to the clutter! At 4, small Lego sets can be good.

Play Doh is on my list (one of the fun novelty sets that doesn't look big and hard to store) as is kinetic sand and the orchard games

Books

I considered craft sets but not sure everyone wants these?

I'll have a look at the Argos selection - thank you

This is what I think.

Something that is fun to receive but not useless clutter or plastic tat

Books, by far the most useful and long term gift of value

DisruptiveCumin · 01/04/2024 09:38

Glowing stickers
Coloring calendars or pages
Crayons sets

Craft sets are great, but yeah, could be tricky and depends on a child. Maybe contact the parents to make sure the kids would enjoy them.

I love that the above ideas work for boys and girls!
