If you were going to cook a really nice meal for guests, what would you make?

No dietary requirements, really enjoy different types of cheese (if that helps at all)

Doesn’t like fish

What would you make? Thinking of doing a starter and a dessert too!

For mains… I fancy a tartiflette so I would make that. I would use a variety of cheese like Comte and Brie as well as reblochon cheese. Maybe with a selection of gorgeous sausages and healthy dollops of mustard. It isn’t posh or fancy but it’s hearty sharing food and delicious.

Otherwise beef bourginon or a tagine is always a hit in my house. Diana Henry has a lovely lamb in sherry and honey dish https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spanish-lamb-sherry-honey-peppers

Starter - homemade pate as you can make ahead

Dessert - Lorraine pascal has a lovely pannacotta and cranberry jelly dessert that tastes delicious and looks special but is actually very easy https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0260s5q

BBC Two - Lorraine Pascale: How to Be a Better Cook, Tony Sartori, Vanilla and yogurt panna cotta with pomegranate jelly

I love the contrast of the white and the red (my favourite colour) in this recipe.

Whatever you decide, one rule worth sticking to, is to have a maximum of one course which needs any last minute attention.

Everything tastes better when the cook and hostess are relaxed and happy.

I would do lasagne and a big salad so I could do everything in advance and just hang out with my guests.

Me too. With garlic bread. Then chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for pudding.
