Food processor - what do you use it for?

Looking at buying a new blender/smoothie maker. I’ve seen one that’s on offer which also has a food processor with it.

I used to have one years ago but didn’t really use it. Just wondering what people use it for on a regular regular basis?

i’m not a big baker, although my DD has bouts of baking and would probably do more if she could do it all in one bowl

i do chop a lot of veg things like peppers, onions, cheese, grating, et cetera so I was just wondering if it’s worth spending the extra money to buy a two in one machine or will it just be an expensive thing that I don’t use

would love to hear how you use yours?
how often, and what do actually do with it?

can’t imagine taking it out to chop 2 onions and grate some cheese so is it best for batch cooking and meal prepping on one day?

Thank so much for the replies!
I’ve decided I’m not getting one - I think it will be one of those in the cupboard things!

lots of the things that people mentioned they use it for aren’t necessarily things that we eat. Thank you so much for making that an easier decision and saving me some money and cupboard space :)

I use mine for things I couldn't/wouldn't bother to do by hand. I use the slicing blade for making fermented veggies (prefer the results to grated), for potatoes Boulanger etc, for slicing citrus skin for marmalade etc. I grate potatoes for hash browns. I also use it for making larger quantities of hummus than works well with a stick blender (which I can then freeze in portions for lunches), for herb pesto type sauces, salsa, that sort of thing.

I do think they're only worth having if you have space to keep them out on the side, otherwise it's too much faff, plus these days I probably wouldn't use one if I didn't have a dishwasher to clean all the bits.
