Please could I have your most successful fundraiser ideas for Scouts.
Feel free to let me know ideas that didn’t work so well also. 😊 Thanks

Bag packing, car washes have been the main ones round here.

My husband is looking for ideas for his scout group so will keep an eye on this one.

He's looking to have a bingo night and quiz but stuck on that.

Definitely do the quiz night. That would always be popular round here no matter the cause.

I hate the bag packing because they are so pushy here. The kids are grabbing at your shopping before it gets to the end of the packing area sometimes which takes away your chance to say no thank you.

My friend's DS is in a scout style group that does Christmas card deliveries so not one you can do now but keep it in mind for future because it's quite popular.

Jumble sales are usually good, as are quiz nights. Raffles tend to do well near to Christmas, and doing a BBQ at a local fete can be good. We often do chocolate or bottle tombolas at community events - having a stand at the Christmas lights is always well attended and good money spinner. Also put out a plea to parents/leaders to see if anyone's company with match funds raised - it's fairly common with some larger companies.

Our best fundraiser though is Santa Sleigh - we have access to a towable Santa Sleigh, and we tow it (complete with Santa) round a housing estate while playing Christmas songs, talking to kids, handing out chocolates and collecting money. People get very excited when they know it's coming up (and not just the kids!), and can be very generous with their donations. It's not really Christmas until we've done a couple of nights of this!

Our best fundraiser is a plant sale. We have a deal with a local plant nursery, get a bulk order delivered to the scout hut and deliver all the plants locally over a weekend. We get a discount for bulk and still make thousands each year while keeping the prices below the likes of B&Q.
Scouts/explorers raise money for expeditions by selling stuff like refreshments, dog treats, hair bands etc at summer fairs like the St George's day parade.

Ours don't do car washes as the risk of damaging someone's car is too much. Coffee morning and cake sale is a success usually. Or a car boot sale.

Scouts go round to local shops & businesses explaining that they're raising funds and requesting raffle prize donation. Once a good selection of prizes is assembled, publicise that raffle tickets are being sold. Scouts also sell to family members & friends in the usual way. Having been party to the acquisition of prizes aids motivation.

Our major one is running the tea and cake stall at the village fayre in the summer.

The rugby club did very well when the kids cycled Land End to John o Groats (on exercise bikes!)
