Convenience Store Staff Who Won't Put Their Phone Down!

This lunchtime I went to a well-known convenience store for the newspapers, went to the counter but the guy manning the till carried on yakking, pushed a hand towards me for the money, couldn't be arsed to make eye contact, was going fifty to the dozen and when I said "how much is that altogether then?" he rolled his eyes to the ceiling.

And that, I assume, is just one of the reasons local shops deserve to close down.

You could read the news online, then you don't have to go to the local shop. Problem solved.

I assume you put your stuff down and walked out?

Same at my local shop, and during Covid they just put a strip of cling film up attached to two sticks on the counter, instead of a glass screen.

Did you have a question or anything?
I read the news online, takes a minute or two, maximum 🤷🏼‍♀️

It is strange when they do that. I have been tempted to walk out and leave the things on the counter.

My son works in a local 'convenience store', I would not have put up with the eye rolling etc and would have asked for the manager, but then the older I get, the less crap Im Willing to put with😆🤷‍♀️
