How long before socialising after illness?

DC started vomiting Weds night, no vomiting after then, but has been wiped out. I've been vomiting since 2am, and stopped around 10 this morning. Had a full bank holiday weekend of socialising planned, would you sack it all off or am I being overly cautious?

I wouldn't go near anyone until we were all 48 hours clear, and I'd probably still be giving them a heads up.

Sorry OP, rotten timing.

For sickness- 48 hours. Same protocol as schools & work places. In the house for 48 hours following any sickness bug so no “socialising” until Tuesday. Believe me, none of your friends will want the bug passed on!

This. Surely no one wants to infect all their family and friends over a BH weekend?

Exactly. I'm not sure I'd want to meet up as soon as 48 hours after either. School, sure, but socialising I may well skip. Vomiting bugs are awful.

48h is what I tend to stick to, I've just had a few friends who give the vibe that I'm overly cautious. I feel terrible as a few.things are.the second time we've cancelled due to sickness. Nursery bugs are brutal 🤒

You’d feel more terrible if they were then all stuck vomiting OP. Stay at home and just enjoy a quiet weekend.
