Silver clay

Has anyone used silver clay before? It's great!

I'm just getting into it as a hobby more than anything, I've made a ring and made it bigger to account for shrinkage, but it has shrunk massively, it basically is too small for my pinky and I made it quite big, I wonder if anyone with any experience could tell me what would happen if I fired it on some sort of mould or something so that it couldn't shrink past a certain point? Would it break?

I just need to fine tune how much bigger I make it but it does seem to be a bit of a guessing game.

Any advice would be appreciated

It's quite faffy, not an exact science for shrinkage, I used to make earrings or pendants as they were easier! I did try a ring a few times but never made anything wearable , If I wanted a ring or to set a ring I would go to a proper silver class, (Google your area) I wouldn't use silver clay for a ring as it seems more fragile than a regular silver ring .

Any recommendations for best places to buy silver clay?

I got mine from cooksongold it was just one I searched up but it was quick delivery

I have managed to make this ring as my first attempt, it's a bit rough but I have learnt quite a lot from it so I have some more drying now to fire tomorrow, I've made them a lot bigger this time as this one doesn't even fit my pinky 😂
