Can we talk prom? Looking for advice on DDs behalf

My DD is going to prom alone/meeting friends there

Should I bother getting her a nice car to drive her, or is it ok if we just drop her off in the family car? She might still go with a date. It is nearly 4 months away. If that happens, they could sort out what they want to do transportation-wise. Regardless of whether she has a date, I told her to go and have a great time. I'll arrange to have her hair and makeup professionally done, buy a corsage, dress, accessories etc.

Also, this is her dress, but she's ordered in slate blue. It is quite high necked. Should she bother with any type of necklace, pendant etc, or just stick with earrings?

WWYD? TIA for your advice x

I think only she can say on the car front. When my ds had prom his gf didn't want a big fuss and I took them early in my (quite nice) car. I hadn't realised how huge extended families would be turning up to stand outside the school and watch the arrivals though! And there were some truly expensive ways to arrive - horse and carriages, supercars alongside tractors, traction engines, and off road buggies.

Wow. I had no idea it could be that big of a deal

When I was head of year, my year group prom had some weird and wonderful vehicles for their prom. An old ambulance, an old ice cream van, some very posh limos and a cherry picker with a couple in the basket. It apparently was raised and lowered as they went through the town.
