I have a Garmin fenix 7 and it basically intermittently stopped working a few weeks ago. Always about a minute into my run, it would totally freeze. No buttons would reset, I’d have to basically ‘hard reset’ and it would fire up, but if I carried on it wouldn’t restart or count any steps etc. incredibly annoying.
In the end, unable to find any ideas online, I have replaced the Garmin like for like.
today, trying out my new watch- exactly the same thing happened in exactly the same place. Came home, reset, stood on my drive for the 1:09 it usually stops at, no effect. Restarted, ran - exactly the same thing happened!!!! 😡
on the driveway of the house where this always occurs is a shiny brand new Volvo which looks to be about 4 weeks old….. so my mind is whirring now- is there something in a car immobiliser that could be causing this? Or house alarm? Or something else?
I can’t find anything specific about this online- had anyone experienced this or similar? Considering how many cars I must go past when running I can’t see how it could be only this one, but it absolutely must be something at one of those houses at that point in the road.
