Travelling as single parent with DD

I'm going on holiday abroad later this year with primary school aged DD (different surname) and adult DS (same surname). Her dad has no issue with this and will do us a letter & I'll take her birth certificate but anecdotally, what are people's experiences of travelling as a single parent with children with a different surname? Any other advice?

I travelled abroad a few times with DS when he was younger and no one blinked an eyelid or asked for anything additional but he did have the same surname as me. Not sure if it's relevant but DS also looks a lot like me & DD a lot less.

My kids have a different surname from me, never had it queried at all and travelled a lot with them

Youve got a letter so you will be fine no need to worry about it

Never been asked for the letter ( although always carry one) but they often ask my child to come forward and state their full name. Not sure if this is unique to one parent travelling with a child.
