Grazing tables a bit bleurgh?

Anyone else feel a bit sick at the thought of all those fingers poking about at the food, or is it just me?

oldgreysquirreltest · 28/03/2024 19:55

They repulse me.

bossybloss · 28/03/2024 19:56

Me too… that are awful!

Petrarkanian · 28/03/2024 19:57

I don't really care about germs, but even I wouldn't want to eat from one.

MuchTooTired · 28/03/2024 19:57

I think they look lovely, but now that I think of it, I don’t think I’d like to eat from one at a wedding or event, but a friends do yes. I have coeliacs though, so they’re off the menu for me!

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 28/03/2024 19:57

Is it like a buffet?

CheckeredAliceBand · 28/03/2024 19:58

Revolting

Is it like a buffet?

Like a buffet but with all the food chucked on the table and touching each other.

notgettinganyyounger · 28/03/2024 20:01

I suppose you are meant to use a utensil to remove the food, but in reality it's all fingers or worse used forks 🤑from going round a second time, eurgh!!

MississippiAF · 28/03/2024 20:02

Absolutely agree, they’re horrid. Warm, sloppy and touched by everyone

Stickinthemuddle · 28/03/2024 20:02

Yeah they really gross me out. Only time I’ve encountered one I went for bread rolls and cake, sort of dry stuff.

Is it like a buffet?

This is what they look like although I’ve only seen on social media not IRL.
I don’t like the idea of them for a group but I quite fancy making a mini one for myself 😋

Revolting. Like animals at a trough 🤢

notgettinganyyounger · 28/03/2024 20:04

@PenelopeTitsdrop1990 🤣🤣

It's really rubbish if you're coeliac, you can't eat anything

angstridden2 · 28/03/2024 20:07

They’re like trifles, first couple of servings look great then it all collapses into an unappetising mess.

Cheshireflamingo · 28/03/2024 20:09

Revolting. Must be a nightmare for anyone with allergies. And impossible to save any leftovers as everything will have just got mixed up by the end.

EsmaCannonball · 28/03/2024 20:19

So it's a squished botulism buffet? No thanks.

Questionableorange294 · 28/03/2024 20:22

And that's the kind of picky stuff I eat in front of the TV. I wouldn't want it at an event.

Stickinthemuddle · 28/03/2024 20:24

I don’t eat meat so that’s my excuse but I’ve seen meat free ones I’m also not keen on. I guess I’d share one with my husband fine- but the one I saw was huge at a party with like 90 ppl!

DancefloorAcrobatics · 28/03/2024 20:27

I think they are meant to save on the washing up.

EndlesslyDistracted · 28/03/2024 20:28

Yep, bleugh. Not only the fingers but I don’t like the thought of eg strawberry juice getting on the crackers. I’ve never encountered one IRL only on SM (so far)

EsmaCannonball · 28/03/2024 20:30

DancefloorAcrobatics · 28/03/2024 20:27

I think they are meant to save on the washing up.

But then someone's got to clean the toilets ........

Allshallbewell2021 · 28/03/2024 20:30

Yes I agree but they do start off looking fab but end up looking like the aftermath of a Roman orgy

notgettinganyyounger · 28/03/2024 20:35

@Allshallbewell2021 🤣

I look at all that and think 'just put it on some plates ffs'.
