Hello ladies! I'm hoping to move to the Bingley OR Crosshills / Sutton area and obviously choice of schools is a concern and will influence where we end up. If anyone lives in the area could you please shed any light on the following schools: South Craven School (Cross Hills), Carleton (Keighley), Bingley Grammar School (Bingley), Beckfoot (Bingley), Dixon's Academy (Cottingley). Also, what would the choice be in Skipton as I'm only seeing single sex schools there (is that right?). Thank you! Would really love your input on this as it's a tough one to navigate xSch

Bingley Grammar and Beckfoot both seem ok from reports from friends.
Ermysteads (boys) and Skipton Girls’ both selective grammar, very competitive and also work on distance.

If not too late, could you look at Silsden and then I think you'd have a decent chance of getting your child into Ilkley Grammar, which is a very good school. I have a daughter at Skipton Girls, I feel like Skipton Girls and Ermysteds take all the brightest kids if you live in the areas around Skipton, like Cross Hills, and so schools like Skipton Academy and South Craven suffer a little from lacking that top cohort. The further you get from Skipton the less this is an issue, so Bingley schools wouldn't suffer in the same way. The selective schools in Skipton are very good, and are targeting the top quartile, it's not crazy hard to get in like it would be in some areas as the country.

Thank you! I hadn't ever considered Ilkley, definitely worth looking into. Thank you 🙏
