Wide awake. Anyone else?

Why are you awake?

I'm not even sure why I'm awake. I didn't really sleep well last night through excitement of DP coming home after 3 months away.

I've missed sharing a bed with him. But been wide awake since 1am. Come downstairs for a yogurt and a banana in the hope I can get some sleep after.

Failing that we are out with friends tonight so the wine with dinner will help me sleep better tonight Grin

Yep. Wide awake. Son is screwing up his exams, and I'm about to start a new full-time job. Stressed out. I want to go to bed but know I will be sweating and turning and miserable.

MessyNeate · 28/03/2024 02:50

Oh I forgot to mention the sweating. Bloody menopause. That being said I've opened the bedroom window and come downstairs DP is probably freezing Grin

Wide awake here too. I had an abdo op last week and the bruising keeps catching me out. 🙁

I've got to be up in three hours to go to London.

Still it's nearly Easter. One more day and then I can relax. Go running. Drag ds out in the fresh air before he dies of vitamin D deficiency. 😊

I hope you get back to sleep.

Hello! Yes had a shit day at work and now have woken up, am thinking about it and feel wide awake!

Whataweirdsituation · 28/03/2024 03:00

Wide awake 🫠

DS(4) has a cough and is waking up every few minutes with a coughing fit. I‘ve given up and stopped trying to drift off now, as I’m just getting increasingly crankier when he wakes me up seconds later 😂

Enjoy the well deserved break at the end of it!

Fell asleep at 8 on my daughter's bed and woke up just now in a panic...! Poor dog had been shut in the front room by himself (no food or water there) but seemed happy enough and had made a nest of my favourite blanket! Let him out but it's pouring here so he wasn't impressed. The rain smashing down on the sun room is helping, I love that noise.

Is a sun room the same as a conservatory?

Mine never gets any sun here in wales 😂

Sun room is a euphemism for what is really a lean-to on the back of a terraced house 😂 Calling it a conservatory would be a stretch!
I've got 'thunder playlist' on Spotify now so it's like being in a giant storm all wrapped up and cosy and I'm hoping that'll push me off. The rain noise calming me is maybe because I'm from Wales 😂💕 when I had a really stressful job and still lived at home I'd drive to the beach in the rain and listen to it crashing on the car to chill out. (Weirdo I know😂) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Wide awake, brain doing overtime thinking about prospective house renovations. Guests arriving later today so really need to get some sleep before the big clean!

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 28/03/2024 03:45

Completely wide awake. But I’ve just had a brainwave about how to teach year 11 something they’re just not getting tomorrow so hopefully that will be worth it!

Spopssas · 28/03/2024 03:50

I start the new job in one week. Feels like going to the gallows as it will take over my life. Still awake here. Once insomnia kicks in it's bad.

garlictwist · 28/03/2024 03:58

I was cold so went to bed in a thick jumper. Woken up drenched in sweat. Now wide awake. I don't have work today and husband is away so not seeing anyone so I don't mind if I'm tired. Might just get up.

This is my go to for stress as well. Drive to the beach in the rain! Are you still in wales? I'm English but moved here nearly 20 years ago (makes me feel old haha)

I have come back to bed but I'm thinking the same. I've got washing to hang, and I may just get up and unpack DP's cases otherwise who knows how long they will sit on the lounge floor for!

Me. Peri, and so woke up boiling hot, but has insomnia since I was 17 on and off anyway. It's been months since I slept past half three am. I won't get back to sleep either, so I'll just lie here overthinking! The

BumpityFlip · 28/03/2024 04:26

Have a chronic illness, several intact, used to been up and unwell during the night feeling/being sick. Moved into new house a week ago, the awakeness this time is paired with fear that we've made a terrible mistake, fear that I'm not going to be able to do what I need to do and fear that if I don't sleep soon I'll be too tired tomorrow. I'll be fine in the morning but for now I'm nauseous, scared and tired. Fun.

piechipsgravy · 28/03/2024 04:28

Me! 8 weeks pregnant, woke up to wee but then realised a) a massive ball I've dropped at work and b) feel sick so am now wide awake.

Overtheatlantic · 28/03/2024 04:32

Husband snoring next to me with a massive cold. Very annoying, but I love hearing the cat snoring downstairs. 😻
