Is this normal for Facebook freebies/Freecycle?

I advertised a number of beauty related things (think foot spa, curling tongs, straighteners) today, and one person asked if she could be considered for all of them. I said I wanted to spread the love, given there were five things and which did she prefer? She told me, all the other stuff went in minutes, all arranged pick up tomorrow. She said “leave it on the doorstep and I’ll just get it from there.” Is this normal or odd? None of the others have mentioned this. We’re on a main road and I’m a bit reluctant to leave something there on display, even in a carrier bag.

I prefer to leave stuff in the front garden for collection. Means I don't have to wait in. Obvs depends what the item is and where you live though!

We leave stuff on a porch so I don’t have to interact with people or wait for them to turn up. If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, that’s normal for you and withinf your own right to handle it how you want.

Thanks! I guess if she tells me what time she’s coming I can leave it there.

A lot of people do.
It makes sense if you are on a quiet road or maybe have a porch you are happy to leave open, but it would be gone in seconds if I left anything on my doorstep, and that is what I would reply to her, and say she needs to knock if she wants it.

I've collected various bits and bobs from people's doorsteps or porches though - in fact, thinking about it, almost everything I've collected for free has been that way over the last 6 years or so.
