DC are 7 and 9, and for the first time, I am home with them for the holidays and I don't want to tear my hair out!

Honestly, this feels amazing!

We have had a chilled couple of days at home, made waffles for breakfast, been swimming, they have slept in a den together over night, played in the park. Few squabbles but hardly anything. Everyone is happy, rested and chilled.

Jeez, I thought this day would never come!

Glad you are having a lovely time, op. I love that moment when you realise that something which was once tricky is now a total breeze. I have questions about the den though, where are you that it is warm enough to be sleeping outdoors right now?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 27/03/2024 13:35

I suspect you haven't found out what they have done yet!

rainydaysaway · 27/03/2024 13:36

Are you sure you picked up the right children from school?

Don't trust it. They will be in that den building a death Star out of cereal packets and an old radio

A brief respite until the 😱 teen years. Enjoy for now.

My teens are a piece of cake, they are lovely to spend time with, they are kind, funny, easy going, respectful. I think that's far more the norm than people talk about. There was a brilliant thread about it the other day. Some teenagers bring angst but it's not inevitable.
