Body odour in 6 year old??

Hello I am having a little panic and I wonder if anyone could tell me if this is something I should be panicking about??

The past few nights when my daughter (age 6, but 7 at end of June) has changed out of her clothes there has been a fairly strong BO smell from under her arms.

I googled and there’s all sorts of stuff about precocious puberty - as she is under 8 this is a apparently a symptom (although I have not noticed any other symptoms, although she is quite tall for age maybe?) and may require medicine (what medicine?)

I plan to face the nightmare that is getting a GP appointment even just to get her a little check up but I wondered if this is actually common and the GP is going to think i am a crazy person for worrying about this? Or is it actually something to worry about?

Book a doctors appointment to check but this happened to my daughter about the same age. We started using dettol soap under her arms and it didn't come back until recently - she's now nearly 11 and has had to add in an aluminium-free deodorant as well as the soap washing.

Thank you. This is reassuring. I was looking up children’s deodorants for her but I’ll try this first.

The medication would be ‘puberty blocking hormones’ which would be taken until the person reaches the normal age range of puberty.

My DD6 was a bit whiffy recently too but it seems to have stopped again.

Hi LittleMissCantBeWrong1.

I was just wondering if you did get a Dr's appt & how it went?
I've made one this week for my daughter for similar concerns. Xx

Hi there all
any updates on how this is all going for you?
my daughter who is 7 turning 8 in November has recently had some BO under her arms. She is tall for her age but we have also noticed a heightened level of anxiety too so I am a bit worried

I was following this post from the original OP as I was having similar issues with my 5/6 year old.

We've finally had a referral to peads and she is now in full blown puberty at age 7. We have been told It's more common for girls to start puberty early but they don't know exactly why.

DD's started with strong bo and greasy hair around 5yo. She's also had huge growth spurts since she was a baby. She is about to start puberty blockers as her bone development is a few years more advanced than it should be.
