21 years ago I was 387 miles from my home city in labour with my second child.
We'd moved to Watford as a small family unit of 3, two years before and although I'd made some friends, I didn't have a massive support group around me.
I had turned to Mumsnet, and through the computer bonded with my online friends. It therefore only seemed right that when I came home from hospital the next day they welcomed DS2 to the world. I printed that thread out, but now can't find it.
Justine and Carrie came to our home and to ensure we didn't need to put up a stair gate, taught DS2 to come down the stairs backward.
Mumsnet has been part of his whole life, so as he turns 21 I say thank you Mumsnet xx
