Car insurance for teens

yetanothernayme · 26/03/2024 22:00

DS is nearly 18 and due to renew his car insurance. He has been driving for a year, passed his test very soon after his Birthday.

His insurance has gone up massively Confused Can anyone recommend a site or a broker for young drivers insurance?

Many thanks!

Definitely go with a local broker. Ours was able to get 19 year old DD a far better, fully comprehensive policy at a way lower price than comparison sites which to be honest I found pretty useless! I’d recommend the broker we used to you but it’s an NI specific company so not much use if you’re elsewhere in the UK

Thank you @MaloneMeadow , that's really helpful. Sadly not in NI, but I will get on the phone tomorrow.

Our local broker wouldn't touch my son unfortunately.

My insurance went up £100 as did my husband s it's very annoying. Many people are complaining.

Nationwide.

We went for a broker who specialises solely in insuring new drivers and young people - it made a world of difference and they were so incredibly helpful
