What do you do if you dislike the parent of your child’s best friend?!

Sorry this sounds awful of me but I really dislike the mother of my son’s best friend!

She just isn’t a friendly, warm person at all.
She is very judgmental, negative and cold.

What do I do in this situation as DS is asking for playdates etc. For reference DS is only 4 so not really an age where I can take her child without her there (or at least, I don’t get the impression I can?) so far whenever I’ve asked re playdates she always suggests meeting together at softplays etc.

I’ve done it with her a few times but we simply do not ‘click’.

Her child however is very sweet and has a lovely friendship with my son. Perhaps I just have to grit my teeth and continue meeting her at the softplay….

Well to be fair plenty of people make excuses or don't reply so they never have to meet up with people..

Yeah, grit your teeth until they start school and then hopefully you can just have the little boy back for a play after-school. The older they get, the less you have to see the parents.

The other thing to do is invite a group. Invite her plus two others, four kids, four mums and then she'll be diluted by the group.

@NuffSaidSam yes this is what I was thinking.. wait for them to move up and hopefully things will change then and I can pick both up from school etc!

I sucked it up and made small talk, and moved to unaccompanied playdates asap.

He is 6 - he doesn’t understand the notion of percentages yet! And she sounds like a trouble maker.
