Do you ever sit and day dream looking out the window at the grey sky and the rain about how wonderful a gap year would be. Off to Sri Lanka I think would be high on the list.

I have a toddler and a baby on the way this summer so won't be going anywhere!

When do you think I can go off on a solo adventure again? I travelled alone for 3 years before I met DH and loved it. Maybe when I'm 60!

I’m 58 and considering one. My kids have grown up though. Bide your time and it’ll come to you…

…eventually 😁.

@MissingMoominMamma by 58 they should both be early 20s and finished uni (if they decide to go) maybe I will!! When I was in Indonesia I met a 72 yr old man. He said he worked for British Gas or somewhere like that, did 3-6 month contracts then took a big trip each year for a few months.

I took a sabbatical when both of mine were at uni,

Loved it.

I'm 51 and just about to embark on a gap year - not to travel as such (though I'll be spending 3 weeks in Paris this summer volunteering at the Olympics/Paralympics on my own) but to do a lot of saying 'why not' to opportunities and seeing what happens.

@CMOTDibbler that founds fab! When I'm 51 I will have late/ mid teens so finishing secondary.

I am fully WFH I obv have no clue what will happen in the future but when they are older 5+ I would love to live in the south of France, or Tuscany or a Greek Island for a summer. DH isn't so keen because he can't come - he's a farmer. I've said he could fly out for a few weeks here and there

Do it!
sounds lovely.

I’ve got 3 DD’s .. since turning 40 last year felt the need for some alone time.

Im spending 11 days hiking with a tent in the Peak District in June. Walking half the Pennine way as a challenge. I know it’s Nothing like what you’re saying… but I can’t wait to be on my own!!

@JennyfromtheBlok that sounds really cool in fairness. Maybe I'll pitch the tent in the garden for a few nights 😂

@liveoppositeacrazyhorse lets go!!
