DS is 2.5, we were planning on attempting potty training at the weekend since we've got 4 days off to focus on it. He actually took himself off for a wee on it on Sunday night without me telling him to, he just asked for it out and sat down and done one whilst I was putting his clothes away. My mum looked after him yesterday and said he done 2 while they were at home and then asked to put his nappy back on. When I arrived to pick him up he was trying for a while to have one on his potty but obviously just didn't need one. These times have all been led by him with no pressure at all. His speech and communication is brilliant however he doesn't say when he has done a poo (he used to but stopped for some reason) but I still want to give it a good go.
So we will plan to mostly stay at home for a few days over the weekend with bottoms off and potty out but really I don't know what the best way to go about it is apart from obviously not pressure him. I haven't the time to read through any books as the majority seem lengthy and I've been so busy with work and juggling everything else as my partner works away but we have spoke to DS lots about the potty. I was hoping I could get some simple advice and tips about how other managed this successfully? What about if we do go out, will it be confusing for him to put a nappy back on? I'll be climbing the walls by day 2 of staying in! Potty training is the one thing I have been dreading the most parenting!
