I’ve watched a couple of Instagram reels or YouTube videos about women who’ve converted to Christianity and now cover their hair after being a typical liberal Western woman or gave up their career to live on a homestead with 6 kids (that was in America) and now obviously the algorithm is giving me loads more. I just wondered how common this kind of big shift is?
I also heard an interview with someone who grew up in a Mormon cult, where the men have multiple wives so he had around 40 sibling or half-siblings altogether. But now he doesn’t live like that anymore.
I suppose the big shift is what attracts people to social media content. “I was vaguely Catholic and now I’m vaguely Quaker” isn’t exactly gripping” is it?!
