So much going on, and no where to run!

I have so much on going atm and no place to turn.

I have been ill for the past month with some virus (originally a chest infection but that has gone) I'm exhausted.

I have still been working full time in a job I started in January and have already decided it's not the right job for me.

My 5 year old, is being seen by SENCO as they think she has undiagnosed SEN (unsure as to what)

I have never found a career I love, my new job was supposed to be that (nhs band 2) but it's a toxic environment.

Also have 2 year old (and a husband who does a lot already)

And I also suffer with depression and anxiety.

Just really struggling.

Life can feel unbearable at times. I've recently been going through a lot of the same and had to take time off work.

Start with the small things that you can control.

Are you in a position to quit the job and look for another?

are you taking medication for your mental health?

livy52 · 24/03/2024 17:23

Yes I'm on fluoxetine for my mental health, not sure it's actually helping atm!

We couldn't afford to keep my youngest at the childminders while I was looking to work!

I have also gone from full time to part time in January and now have no time to do anything or help anyone.

How do you have less time now that you’re part time, instead of more?

BrutusMcDogface · 24/03/2024 17:26

Oh, I just read your op and I guess you’ve gone full time since starting there in January. In which case, can you ask for part time again?

I’ve literally resigned from my job with nothing to go to as I’m struggling so much, so you do have my sympathy/empathy!

livy52 · 24/03/2024 17:26

Sorry the other way round gone from part time to full time

Thank you @BrutusMcDogface I have debated asking to drop down a day, but unsure whether they would accept this with the fact I have only just started!

There is no harm asking to reduce hours.

Please go back to your GP and ask for different medication if you feel the current stuff isn't working. Took me a few months before I for the right meds and dosage.

Thank you @AdditionalCharacter

It was working for a good 6 months but in the last 2/3 months hasn't been working as well

You might need it increased then. Have you accessed the NHS talking therapy? You can refer yourself.

livy52 · 25/03/2024 13:24

I did therapy last year (cbt) didn't help.

I'm very much not enjoying work atm that's what a lot of it is down to.
