Is a final payslip an adequate alternative for a p45?

Your new employer will be able to give you a New Starter Checklist to fill out if you don't have your P45. They should give you one as a matter of course anyway to make sure you aren't emergency taxed.

It doesn't really matter if you leave in March and don't start new job until
April. As different tax years.

If you don't have a P45 in time for a new job, just fill in a P46 to give your new employer - if they don't provide you with one you can just google it and print off the PDF

They have renamed the P46 as New Starter Checklist.
