How to clean fanric sofa arms

I've removed and washed all the covers where possible but how do I clean the arms of fabric sofas? I know someone here will know.

I’ve used a carpet cleaner before, one of those that pumps out warm soapy water and then sucks it up again. Was very effective

I hired it, cost very little.
