Packet mix best before 2021

I have some chicken thighs that I need to cook today - delving into the back of the cupboard I found some old casserole packet mixes - best before 2021.

they will be ok to use - won’t they?

That’s what I thought - DH saw the date on them, he is really funny about dates but surely there’s nothing in them that can cause harm.

I imagine if it got wet then it wouldn't be as safe to use but sitting at the back of the cupboard it's fine.

Personally I wouldn’t, just in case it’s not going to be very tasty and meat is so expensive, but doubt it would make you ill.
