Does anybody recognise this clothing brand?

I have bought this lovely blouse today in a charity shop and I really like the quality/feel of it and would love to buy more from the same company if possible but I can’t seem to find it online at all. I will attach a photograph of the tag. Thank you to anyone that can help!

Does anybody recognise this clothing brand?

It comes up in some of my eBay searching. Kind of 80s/90s look. I think it may have been related to the Sock Shop

LemonySnickets · 23/03/2024 17:27

I put it into Google lens and came up with nothing! 🤷‍♀️

TheFlis · 23/03/2024 17:29

I remember them very well from when I was as a kid but I don’t think they have existed for at least 20 years I’m afraid. They were a slightly upmarket jumper shop, sold lots of ladies rugby shirts and sweaters, commonly found in naive market towns. A bit of a Joules type audience.

This was a Joules type brand in the 80's. Lots of ath leisure wear for mums. My mum had lots of it

OhItsOnlyCynthia · 23/03/2024 17:31

I remember Jumpers, it was a bit like Joules in the 80s. Very much for the country set.

Cherrysoup · 23/03/2024 17:34

May I jump on this? I bought a pair of jeans on eBay last year, the label says The Look (tall), size is UK women’s, but the button is on the opposite side to where you’d expect for women’s clothing. I’ve googled to no avail. 😢

bilgewater · 23/03/2024 17:35

Yes, very 80s/90s market town. Bit like Country Casuals.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/03/2024 18:01

Jumpers from Jumper was probably my only clothes shopping addiction back then.

I didn't notice their demise, which I assume happened sometime after I had my DD which was when I stopped wearing woolies so much. I don't suppose they ever did online selling.

colourblindrainbow · 23/03/2024 19:25

Thank you for the replies, it looks like I’ll have to look on eBay for similar items, it really is a lovely feel. So soft and thick - will last. And nice and silky inside!
@LemonySnickets i did the same and nothing either!
@Cherrysoup I found this online,
How has this come about? 'LADIES' were once dressed by maidservants; it is easier for a right-handed person to button another's clothing right-over-left. Men normally dressed themselves, and the opposite method is easier.
Interesting!

I read that somewhere but possibly not for jeans!

NashvilleQueen · 23/03/2024 19:27

Definitely remember them. Think around in 80s/90s

LIZS · 23/03/2024 19:36

Jumpers were around late 80s/mid 90s. Often found in garden centres and small units in high streets. Lots of coords and bright knitwear. I still have a cream/navy breton-style sweater.

colourblindrainbow · 23/03/2024 20:05

@Cherrysoup no, I’m not so sure that Victorian women had jeans in their wardrobes 😬
@LIZS the selection sounds fabulous! I will try and seek out some more items from eBay! If this blouse is from the 80’s/90’s and it’s lasted until now with such good quality I’m even more impressed!

Going by the pictures, their women's jeans do button left over right.

Items come up when I search for e.g. "Vintage cotton cardigan"
It is really hard to search for as a brand.

Gettingonmygoat · 23/03/2024 21:32

Great shop back in the late 80s and 90s.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 23/03/2024 21:41

"naive market towns " 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Karlah · 23/03/2024 21:59

There are quite a few on Vinted, this one, for example. Also some in 100% cotton.

I filtered by women-tops-shirts and added ‘jumper’ in the filter for the brand.
I also did the same but replaced shirt, with blouse.

I recognised that label immediately- had a couple of beloved tops from them.

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 23/03/2024 22:04

Vinted

colourblindrainbow · 23/03/2024 23:00

Thank you all and thank you @Karlah i have bought that one now! Super chuffed! The one I bought today in the charity shop was a size large and slightly oversized but exactly the same design so figured this would be a more tailored fit! Now lost in a rabbit hole of trying to find more lovely shirts! It was my birthday this week so I’m using it as a good reason to treat myself to a few new bits!
