Hi all. I'm after some shopping inspiration, if you please... The years of buying jeans from Tesco are finally over and I'd like to indulge in some nicer items, but not feeling very confident.

Where do 40-something ladies shop? The High Street where I live is fine if you're a teen, with Primark and New Look being about it. I find myself in M&S, but there isn't a great choice, and it's a bit repetitive - but probably still where my budget is, or thereabouts.

I enjoy wearing the styles shown in the pics I've posted, but any ideas about where I can buy bits like this would be appreciated. Ideally not online shops - I'd much rather travel than buy online.

Thanks in advance! 😊

French connection have items similar to all the ones you’ve pictured.

The POW wears some similar looks and there are links for more affordable versions here.

I don’t think you should discount any shop as New Look for example has some nice things if you look hard enough. I think Barbour, Johnson’s of Elgin and Ralph Lauren would be worth a look.

On the whole I'd never discount a shop. I just find the quality in New Look and the like just isn't there. I'm after more quality these days. My teen DD loves the place though!

RL is a great brand, however, likely to be out of my budget for everyday wear at the moment, unfortunately.
