Car insurance Employer Indemnity Letter

I have taken out a car insurance policy with business use included with LV.

It was taken out on the basis they would issue an Employer Indemnity letter indemnifying my employer from any claims arising when using the vehicle for work.

Several LV staff did not understand what this is but when explained and referred to a manger they said it would be issued.

This is a standard requirement from every employer yet LV are now refusing to provide such a letter.

Has anyone experienced this and what did they do? It's bizarre considering LV being a mainstream insurer.

I've never had a letter indemnifying my employer from claims arising from using my car at work.

When I had business use insurance, when I had an accident I just liased with the insurance company, not my employer.

Employers letter if indemnity became redundant some years ago when Insurance regs changed. Alot of personal lines insurers will no longer issue them, many call centre staff are younger and probably never heard of them.

Liability to others is required to be detailed within the policy. Your certificate, schedule and policy wording will forfil the requirement. The certificate as proof of cover, schedule confirming business use, wording will have a section confirming indemnity to other which will detail your employer.
