Stop thinking about work over the weekend!

I can’t stop thinking about how I handled a situation at work this week and an email I received yesterday. It’s nothing serious but just made me feel as though a colleague disrespected my opinion when others were also copied in.
Anyhow what it was about is really irrelevant - it’s that it’s spoiling my weekend and I want it to stop!
I’m thinking about logging in just to go over things again in the hope it might make me realise it’s not that bad…but it might make me feel worse!
How do you stop going over things that have happened at work?

It sounds like you may need to get it out of your system. Things that work for me are writing it all down, what’s happened, how it’s made you feel and your next steps for example. If it’s affecting you emotionally I highly recommend the Tapping Solution app (free version), it’s based on EFT (emotional freedom techniques) and will help reduce your anxiety around it. Good luck and I hope it doesn’t ruin your weekend.

Very good advice. If there’s someone sensible you can have a chat about it with do that.my husband is very good at making me laugh about stuff at work and putting it in perspective. Another good friend is good on the phone for saying ‘fuck that no one will care next week’….

or write it down…honestly what’s the worse that could happen….

my view is will worrying make it any better. No.

This all makes sense, it’s getting my brain to take any notice!
the worst that could happen?.. one of our key stakeholders was copied in and I worry that could influence how they view my input on other projects.
The frustrating thing is I did discuss the response with another colleague, so it’s not as though this is all from me…
I know this doesn’t really even sound like much to be worried about in the grand scheme of things.

I just go over what I imagine people will say to each other about it as well.
I wasn’t really worried about it when I got home, but thoughts on it have been swirling since I went to bed.
