Please, @mnhq, I looked down Active Conversations and saw at least six threads that weren't about Kate Middleton's cancer. Can you not just move them all to a single Non- Kate topic so that I can hide it and have pure Kate from the top to the bottom of my screen?

I don't think anyone is being horrible/disrespectful, I think people just have different ways of dealing with things.

The humour is in the MN behaviour, not the substance of the story that has just broken.

It happens with many breaking stories, when people see something and start a thread without stopping to think that maybe there's one (or dozens) already
