Additional CT scans on gallbladder and bile duct

Posting for traffic.

My mum is late 60s and hasn’t have a healthy life. Big smoker and drinker until recently.

She keeps getting swollen feet and had other symptoms of angina (chest pains) and had lots of tests, nothing was found. GP was concerned about the swelling and blood tests revealed severe anaemia.

Nothing was prescribed but mum was referred for an abdominal ct scan, expecting results in 2 weeks. Within 3 days she was told she needed an additional ct scan on her gallbladder and bile duct.

Mum denies that they’ve ever told her they’re looking for something, just ‘ruling things out’ but surely it’s a cancer investigation? Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

Im absolutely sick with worry and 8 months pregnant. My has form for keeping me in the dark ‘so I don’t worry’. This makes me worry far more.

I had emergency CT scan, then ultrasound and MRI on liver and gallbladder, due to suspected lesions.

It was all fine, and a massive relief.
