I've been helping at a night shelter. The guests aren't what you think. They say you're only 2 steps away from homelessnes and this is what has happened to several, a relationship breakdown and then lose your job. As a single person you're a long way down the list for housing.
One of the men has secured a job in the well paid industry he has experience of, but needs to travel to the big city daily, at a cost of £120pw. I referred him to the charity's person who helps with benefits, but wonder what he's likely to be advised?
