Have an old Karcher model, detergent dispenser doesn’t work and i have a large filthy patio and it’s taking ages with just the wand. Are these newer types with the round patio head cleaner any good? How much easier and do they clean well?

I've got the round head patio cleaner as an add-on. It's okay, but I don't find it lifts as well as the wand.
I've never used the detergent dispenser as I find water works well e ough and don't want the detergent offspill on the garden.

I bought a Wicks washer, only used it about four times over three years & then it wouldn’t work, so would not recommend them to anyone.

Ive got a karcher. The round brush head broke the first time we used it. Wouldnt bother again

Was told not recommended as they wash out the "grouting" so U create yourself extra work in the future so I tend to scrub...

I would definitely not recommend Karcher. We have one of the higher cost models (can’t remember which but it wasn’t the first couple in the range at that time) and it’s been back and forward to Karcher for repairs around 4 times then they finally agreed to send a brand new replacement with another 3 year warranty. That broke too and had to go for the same repairs. It’s currently working but only if it’s run for about 10 mins to get rid of the airlock which is a precursor to breaking down again. It gets used to wash the cars every two to three weeks and I think we’ve done the patio once.

Sorry if that doesn’t answer your question but would like to prevent anyone else having our experience.

And their window vac broke as well!

I've stopped using a power washer and now use 'Wet and Forget', (other brands are available). Just spray it on and somehow it magically cleans everything.
It's absolutely ace on green algae, kills moss straight away (but this does need swilling away later) and slowly, over weeks takes any black away and brings the colour back.

I use weak hot tub chlorine. Scrub it all over with a stiff brush Can't use a pressure washer as it takes out the grout

Mynewnameis · 22/03/2024 14:54

Wet and forget was disappointing on my patio...

Swear by patio magic!!! Spray it on leave it and let the sun do its magic. It gets rid of everything and the patio looks fab again. They are always jet washing next door and it removed all the sand from the drive.
