Had parents evening last night for 5.5 year old year one child.
Teacher mentioned that he sits funny on his chair almost as if he can’t get comfy to write and his writing is below the expected level. This is no surprise it was in reception but it’s definitely improving.
She mentioned about getting him seen at the doctor as could be a motor problem. He sits fine at home and when I asked him if he could sit like that at school he just said that the chairs are too hard so he’s uncomfortable hence sitting on his legs.
Not sure whether to go to the doctor for an assessment on motor skills or just let it be. What would you do?
